Size Range

Our gowns are available in NZ sizes 6 – 24+, with half sizes offered for most designs. This allows brides to order the closest possible fit and reduce the need for alterations.

Every gown comes with its own fit notes, as some designs may be slightly more generous through the hip or bust. Please review these carefully before placing your order.

Alterations

Please keep in mind that while our gowns are cut to the nearest standard size, additional tailoring may be required for the perfect fit. We recommend allowing both time and budget for alterations in your wedding planning.

Split Sizing

For brides whose bust, waist, and hips fall across different sizes, we offer a split sizing service (additional fee applies). This means you can order different sizes for different areas of your gown.

Example:
If your measurements are 90cm bust, 70cm waist, and 103cm hip, you may order a bust size 10, waist size 10, and hips size 12.

We recommend avoiding differences greater than one full size between areas. In cases where there is a larger variance, it’s usually best to order the gown in the bigger size and have it taken in through alterations.

Please Note: Made to Order is not the same as Made to Measure. A made-to-measure gown is tailored exactly to your body with multiple fittings. Our ready-to-wear gowns are made to the closest standard size.

How to Take Your Measurements

When measuring, keep the tape snug but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Bust – Around the fullest part of your bust.

Under Bust – Directly beneath your bust.

Waist – At the narrowest part of your torso.

High Hip – 10cm down from your waist.

Low Hip – 20cm down from your waist. (This may not always be your widest part — check carefully when selecting your size.)

Bicep – Around the fullest part of your upper arm (only needed for gowns with sleeves).

Gown Length – Our standard gowns measure 117cm from the true waist to the floor (centre front). Extra length can be added to your order notes if needed.

All Ivonn Bridal Couture ready-to-wear gowns and separates are made to order. We do not carry stock — each piece is individually cut and sewn in the size you select.
