Nestled in the heart of Hawkesbay at the Terrace View Winery in Maraekakaho, Sarah and Richard’s wedding unfolded against a backdrop of rolling vineyards and stunning landscapes, creating a fairytale setting for their special day.

The story behind every detail

Sarah’s quest for simplicity and minimalism paved the way for the creation of a gown that surpassed expectations, evolving into a unique and breathtaking masterpiece that perfectly captured her personality and style.

The custom couture gown became a canvas for a labor of love and creativity. Collaborating closely with Sarah, we transformed her initial vision into a timeless creation that defied conventions. Discovering that Sarah rarely wears dresses, we were determined to craft a gown that not only made her feel comfortable but also radiated grace and elegance.

The gown’s front embraced minimalism with a clean and simple design, featuring a draped and sculpted bust that exuded sophistication. However, the true showstopper awaited at the back of the dress. Inspired by the traditional Korowai, a Maori cloak, the gown featured extravagant ostrich feathers cascading down, framed by beaded lace and pearls, adding a touch of drama and whimsy to the overall look.

This fusion of modern design and traditional inspiration resulted in a one-of-a-kind dress that paid homage to tradition while adding a meaningful cultural touch. As Sarah walked down the aisle in her custom couture gown, the picturesque surroundings of Terrace View Winery provided the perfect backdrop, showcasing not just the gown but also Sarah’s radiant beauty and unique style.

Personal touch

Adding another layer of personal and cultural significance were the bouquets, carefully crafted from traditionally woven flax flowers. Created with care by Sarah and her Whanau (Family), these unique floral arrangements went beyond beauty, carrying deep meaning. Each bloom represented a labor of love, intertwining tradition and family threads to add a special touch to their enchanting day.

We absolutely loved the hints of Kiwiana that infused the wedding, from classic cars to gumboots and traditional Maori Pounamu. This seamless blend brought together elegance, tradition, and straight country vibes, adding a distinctive touch to an already remarkable day.
